Important Milestones

A Quarter Century of helping resident-bound senior citizens feel the joy of the season

January of 2020 brought about great festivities and reminiscing of the first 25 years of Wrapping Presence. The program began with a fond memory of parents, a dream, and a few bags of new gifts in the back of a Volvo.  Curious friends seeing the car laden with gifts two years later said we can help. From there, with the support of Doylestown Presbyterian Church, more friends and eventually many in the community, Wrapping Presence has grown to the organization it is today. Everyone got in on the celebration, even the Philly Phanatic!

Wrapping Presence was delighted to be the benefactor of a community leadership project  by a smart and skilled Eagle Scout named Dan. He drew up plans to reconfigure a building for us, and  renovated the space into our permanent processing and organized storage center. We continue to count our blessings for this space and the dedicated hands that created it.

(The building is owned by Doylestown Presbyterian Church. We are so fortunate to have their support and could not exist without the use of their facilities.)

Welcome Hill School

The Hill School
The Hill School

Just 3 months after students at The Hill, (a boarding and day secondary school in Pottstown, Pennsylvania) formed a Wrapping Presence® Club, they brought their generosity to a local nursing home and helped over 40 residents shop and wrap gifts as their Hill Chamber Orchestra played lovely seasonal background music. The event merited front page coverage in the Pottstown Recorder and the Hill students are leading the way to a very successful on-going project.

Illinois here we come!

The fabulous leadership of Wrapping Presence Illinois
The fabulous leadership of
Wrapping Presence® Illinois

When Wrapping Presence® celebrated its’ 10th Anniversary in Pennsylvania, founder Marne Kies Dietterich dreamed of bringing the program to Illinois where her parents had lived out their last years in a nursing home. In December of 2005, under the fabulous leadership of The First Presbyterian Church of Libertyville, many enthusiastic volunteers joined together to bring Wrapping Presence® to over 200 residents of Winchester House, a county nursing home. The snowy Saturday was a true celebration of months of preparation and First Church is looking forward to expanding the organization for the 2006 season.

Nursing homes added

With great pride and boundless energy, Wrapping Presence® is currently serving 17 nursing homes within a 60 mile radius of Doylestown, Pennsylvania.  These visits are all accomplished within 15 days and teams of 20-30 volunteers going out each day.  Think of us and wish us luck!

Herr’s Foods

Wrapping Presence® was honored to be the subject of a C.B. East student’s award-winning graduation project. Michael M. created a short video about Wrapping Presence® and took it upon himself to circulate it to several businesses and corporations to encourage their support of the program. His efforts led to an invitation to tour Herr’s Foods, and a meeting with Mr. Herr, himself! Mr. Herr was impressed with Michael’s efforts and by the program, and graciously offered his support that year. Thanks to Michael for being such an enthusiastic ambassador for Wrapping Presence®!
